Mar-o … Motorists Against Rip-Offs

I got to talking to a dear friend of mine on MSN this morning, Laura. She was struggling with a photograph for a website and getting frustrated with it. Then she showed me the website.
Mar-o. Mar-o is run by a Lawyer that Laura knows in Toronto. Mar-o stands for Motorists Against Rip-Offs. The website is about gas prices in Toronto specifically, but I think it’s a problem not just country-wide, but also worldwide.
Anyway, this guy is calling for a boycott of all Esso gas stations during the month of June. While there have been boycotts of gas stations before, I think settling for one gas station at a time is a much better idea. Denting them all one at a time gives people a chance to still gas up if they need to, but using someone other than Esso.
I suggest visiting the website of this guy and leaving a comment of support like I did. We will definitely be joining the boycott! Our gas prices are insane right now at $1.33 a litre, and there is talk of them rising as high as $1.50 a litre by the Summer. That does NOT bode well! While I don’t understand the ins and outs of gas prices and why they rise so high, I do know that something has to be done.

It’s awesome to see someone actually standing up for the rights of motorists for a change! It makes me wish he lived out here in Vancouver though lol!

Mr. Weingust is a lawyer here in Toronto. He has been fighting for motorist rights for years. He and his family have received over 60 parking tickets and he’s won his case each time!
Thanks for bringing some awareness to what he’s standing for!
