I’d like you all to finally meet Tara. Jeff and I adopted this wonderful sweet cat today to join our lives and for us to provide the forever home she’s so desperately been looking for.
Tara was abandoned at 3 months old after she became pregnant. (Yes you read that right!) She was eventually picked up, along with her daughter Dixie and taken to the Sara Society. Her daughter, Dixie, was adopted almost right away, but poor Tara has been waiting for a new home for 6 months.
So, Jeff and I finalized things today and adopted the darling. We had a good time with her, and she was allowed out of her cage so we could take some photos and spend a little time getting to know her a little better. Now, She hasn’t come home with us yet. Our landlord was not to be shaken when he said no cats, and so Tara is being boarded at the shelter until we have a new place to live. We’ve paid to have her boarded there for 2 months, so as long as we’ve gotten somewhere by the middle of December, we’ll be fine. I personally don’t forsee any issues. There are many places for rent in our area right now – it’s just a case of finding what meets our needs and whats not too extortionate rent wise. We’re off to see yet another apartment tomorrow night, so … fingers crossed, it’ll be what we’re looking for. It meets our needs from what the landlord said, it’s more a case now of just checking it out space wise and making sure the building is okay.
In the meantime, Jeff and I will be at the Shelter as many times a week as his work allows. In order for us to go right into the Shelter, a volunteer has to be there, and their times are a little weird at times. However, I did check out the times for Sunday, and we’re going to spend a little bit of time there then.
And now …. Piccies! I apologise for the poor quality of these, but the lighting wasn’t the best and they were taken with the Video camera. We also have some Video Footage, but you’ll have to wait till Jeff finds time to put that together and adds it to YouTube.
Ciao.

She looks so sweet! I can just tell she’s going to be a terrific pet. I bet you can’t wait until you have a new home to take her to. I adopted an adult cat a couple of years ago and she is awesome. Tara’s lucky to have found you.
Gorgeous, gorgeous…….
What a darling kitty – hope all three of you are happy together!

Hi QueenieCarly, Thanks for the comment!
I can’t wait at ALL to get her home … it’ll be so good to have her home just in time for Christmas. Myself and my partner even had our first disagreement last night when he refused to allow me to buy some nibbles for when we go visit her in the Shelter. Ahhh well, I do have a few dollars in my purse … and he’s working today …
Thanks for visiting!
Thankyou cq hon …. She’s just what we’ve been looking for …. ‘cept she decided on us lol.
what a cutie!!
all the best with the house/apartment hunt!
Yay Dawn!
Tara is beautiful! I am so glad she is now part of your family. It’s wonderful you will visit her so often.
Now… who is trying to sweep her out the door in the last picture?
Lol David, she seemed to actually LIKE that Brush for some reason. I should buy one especially for her when she comes home with us
Cats loved to be brushed, Dawn. Make sure you also get her a good English comb. Cats need combing more than brushing to keep their coats beautiful.
Cute kitty! We have a boy kitty we adopted in July. He was three months old and just tiny. He has grown so much! We didn’t adopt from the human society though because they are too expensive. I got Logan for free outside of the walmart.
I hope you find a place, soon!
Oh, she is so beautiful.
Ed, Nels, Nitro and Xing alerted me to this blog.
My little reporter kitten, KC, will be posting it on the Cat Blogosphere in the Monday Noos (News).
